The 4. edition of this educational program, was proudly communicated by the Empify Social Impact team.

About the Girls Do Engineering

The Girls Do Engineering program was created to introduce young women to the world of technology and engineering, opening new opportunities for them. The program boosts participants’ confidence and equips them with practical skills, preparing them for a future in the tech industry. Alongside technical skills like coding, participants also develop soft skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, public speaking, and effective communication. The program includes study visits to leading tech companies and technical universities in Gdańsk. Under the guidance of mentors using the Design Thinking model, the girls work on prototypes of their own applications.

Highlights of the 4. Edition

The 4. edition of the program gathered a record number of applications, reflecting the growing interest among young women in the tech industry and the program’s expanding influence. The spectacular final gala of the 4. edition took place on April 19th in Gdańsk. During the gala, participants showcased the results of their months-long work on application prototypes addressing contemporary social and environmental issues. Guests, including the U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzezinski, and the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, admired projects covering topics from social life and mental health to fashion, responsible shopping, animal care, and environmental protection. These projects demonstrated that young engineers from the Tri-City area are ready to tackle modern-world challenges and work towards a better future.

Supporting Sustainable Development Goals

The Girls Do Engineering program strives for lasting positive change in the tech sector, supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality). The program promotes diversity in the tech industry by challenging gender stereotypes and encouraging women’s participation. With the involvement of ADCP experts and trainers from the Digital Dialogue Association, the program’s curriculum is comprehensive and meets the demands of the rapidly evolving ICT market. The program also aims to empower local communities by providing young women with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed career choices in technology.

An Inspiring Environment for Growth

The Girls Do Engineering program is an excellent example of an initiative that combines education with social values, promoting diversity and inclusivity in technology. The success of the 4. edition highlights its growing popularity and effectiveness in inspiring young women to embrace challenges in the tech industry. We encourage all interested girls to join the next edition of the program. Don’t miss this unique opportunity for growth and learning in an inspiring environment.
